That would be the weekend.
I had a busy weekend. Vegging on Friday night (I really should have been more productive). Sofia and I watched a movie together, nothing else.
Saturday we were out of the house by 10am, looking for the most *perfect* Christmas tree. We headed to a new farm, up in the hills, close to Green River CC. They had a nice selection of trees for a decent price. My justification for the purchase was to stimulate the local farmer. B would scold me if she knew how much I paid for a tree. But I did some research, buying fresh is still better for the environment, and good for our local economy.
I was a MAD women trying to get that tree up before my candle party. I pretty much worked on it until nearly 6pm. Thank God Sylvia and my mom came over early. With great direction, they made the food and dessert! I had a nice group of ladies over. It was fun, but I was beat!
Today Sofia had a game in the morning. It was FREEZING, I mean, really freezing.
The tree is as done as it can be at this point. This year's tree is quite large, so I'm short on ornaments...I need more. But don't tell B.

Full House
I have a full house tonight. My four, Rhea and Mateo. I love having my nieces and nephews here. Missing is the other three.
We went to Tiffany and James house tonight to celebrate birthdays -- James 30th and Brittney's 18th. Good food, good family & friends and karaoke. The kids had a blast singing. I think Santa needs to bring them one. We'll see what I can arrange.
Tomorrow we're heading to watch New Moon with the girls!
So much to do before Thanksgiving..................

Out of the mouth of a babe
Lilia is fresh out of the bath.
While I get her dressed, I tell her she needs some Vicks on. She is sick, has a cold, but hasn't complained that her nose is red raw.
So her response, "I don't want that spicy stuff (Vicks), I want the soft stuff (Neosporin)." Okay, I agree. The soft stuff goes on the raw nose and the spicy stuff went on her chest.
Then she says, "you know sometimes girls dress like boys and boys dress like girls". "Really? I didn't know." Where does this come from?
Then she raves how she LOVES Michael Jackson. She's been on the MJ fix since school started. I think her best friend is schooling her on the MJ, because it isn't a topic of conversation, at all, in this house.

Another Bootiful Day
Halloween was a success. Lots and lots of food, family and friends. We missed not having Oscar and Ruben's family, but I get, that will happen, maybe even more so as kids grow.
We ventured around our neighborhood -- with nearly 80 homes, I'd say about 1/3 gave out candy. I couldn't believe how quiet it was. Maybe people are doing more church/school events, but I'm sad that there isn't more of a sense of a community with our neighbors. I think for my 13 house culdesac, only 4 houses handed out goodies. The little ones got plenty of candy, but the older one's felt short changed. We were in for the night and we had some late arrivals that were "drivin' in", do you think that's what it comes to? Driving your kids around until you find a "live" house. That sucks.
We'll see what next year brings. They did have fun hanging out nonetheless.
Today, Lilia, Sofia and I watched a movie first thing this morning. The boys and Alex's friend played WII. Finally a breakfast of pancakes around 10:30am. Now it's a lazy day ... cleaning the kitchen, laundry, and taking down the decorations. Fun.
Here's a picture ... I'm bummed I didn't get one of just MY kids, but they barely stood still for this one.

This is my life....
Somedays I think it's too much. Like today. Leave for soccer at 7:45, at a game until 10:30, home to get ready for Ruby's birthday party in Orting, leave 11:15. Leave party at 1:15. JH's soccer game at 2:15. Leave game at 3:30. Pick up food, at padres by 4:30 for a visit. Back on the road, home around 6:30.
This is a typical Saturday, or Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or any other day of the week. Not usually Sunday though.
It's dark, I'm tired.
And time is flying by. I feel like it's on fast forward and I can't keep up or at least get ahead. My days are planned with work or kids. That's my life. I need to figure out how I might fit in an exercise program, or for healthy eating at home, instead of on the run. I know, so many excuses.
I suffer less when I accept that this is my life. And I like my life. I think I need to work on being more present. Otherwise it will zoom by without me.

Fall is here...
Fall is definately here now. I love it. My most favorite time of year. But oh how time is flying. It doesn't matter how much I love the weekends, the weeks go too fast. Only 2 games today. Sofia won, JH lost (the only loss this season). We went to the padres post games, we had dinner and looked through pictures, old pictures. I hope to post some soon.
One month into the school year. Lilia is liking it, but somedays thinks maybe she does not want to go, but she always does. JH likes his new teacher Mrs. Norton. He is still struggling with reading, something I need to continue to work on here at home. A&S are managing their schedules so far. Sofia got moved up to 8th grade math. She likes it, but it is hard. We did homework together the other night for nearly an hour before we figured out the "method" her teacher wanted her to use. It took a while, but she finally got it.
Work is crazy busy, crazy busy, so busy. It's hard to come home and turn it "off". I think about it way too much. I look forward to a calm, which may never happen. Rhea's here tonight. I LOVE my nieces and nephews over. We watched the Hannah Montana movie. Everyone fell asleep and I watched it until the end. I cried. I normally don't like Miley Cyrus, but I liked the movie.
Well off to bed. Tomorrow will be filled with laundry and maybe a sneak of scrapbooking.
